Friday, April 28, 2017--Ft. Stockton, TX to McDonald Observatory, Ft. Davis, TX--111miles

At 8 am the temp was 70 and at 10 it was 81. We had a slow and lazy start to the day. Sofie is queen of the roost

When I stepped out of the van, a small leaf rolled slowly by. It turned into a horny lizard! (A life lizard)

Then I noticed a beautiful Kingbird and a Scissortail Flycatcher

We stopped for lunch at Balmorhea State Park. It has the only natural springs for miles and the campground sites feature shelters from the sun.

     Heading into the Davis Mountains

McDonald Observatory--Home to Paul's cousin Judy and her husband Kevin

We arrived at the Visitor's Center in time to take in Paul's cousin Judy's program on "The Sun".
Then Kevin (her husband) led us to their (and our) home on the mountain. He installed us at their home with super wi-fi and then went back to work for a bit.
I was in heaven with amazingly powerful working wi-fi. Soon they came home and we began the fun!

Today Our Eyes Were On

Seeing family was most welcome after 4 weeks on the road

and eating home-cooked food was wonderfully delicious

and we began some very good VISITING!!!!
